Most skincare advice you’ll find online was written for a temperate climate — cool, dry, low UV. Kampala isn’t that. Humidity swings hard between seasons, sun exposure is high year-round, and a moisturizer that feels perfect in a European winter can feel like a film here by 10am.

That’s the reason we don’t just import a product line and rebrand it. Everything in the Beauty Crib edit gets tested by people actually living with equatorial humidity and daily SPF reapplication — not just formulated on paper for it.

Practically, that means a few things we look for before anything makes the shelf: does the SPF sit under makeup without pilling by midday, does the moisturizer still feel light after a boda ride, and does the cleanser actually cut through a full day of sunscreen without stripping the skin.
